Our Wisconsin log cabin lodging is in a secluded country setting on 5 1/2 wooded acres minutes north of Platteville, WI, about 30 minutes from Eagle Ridge Galena Territory, Galena IL, and Dubuque IA. It is a true getaway from all outside distractions. Relax, unwind and rekindle your relationship, or begin a new romance with a stay at Walnut Ridge.

The "breakfast fairy" delivers fresh each morning to your door items such as strudels, baked french toast and home made muffins. Coffee, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, granola bars, chocolates, and orange juice are in the dining room cabinet or refrigerator. Enjoy breakfast while listening to the birds, nature, and the clip clop of horse drawn Amish buggies. Spend evenings enjoying the warmth and crackling of a real wood burning fire in a native limestone fireplace while relaxing in a luxurious bubble bath in the two-person whirlpool. The long lazy summer nights can be enjoyed by lounging on the large front porch. A gas grill is provided for your outdoor grilling.

The private luxury log guest cottage is nestled in the woods of scenic southwest Wisconsin, surrounded by rolling hills and hidden valleys. The cabin is surrounded by thick woods of oak, maple, and walnut trees. The perfect habitat for wildlife and birds. During the warmer months, enjoy the gardens and wildflowers throughout the grounds. Each season is a treat to the senses.

Many guests find our Wisconsin log cabin so enjoyable and peaceful they don't venture out, although there are many nearby places to visit. Take in the many attractions, shopping and restaurants of nearby Galena Illinois, Eagle Ridge Galena Golf, Galena skiing, Dubuque Iowa and it's Mississippi River Museum, Madison Wisconsin, Monroe Wisc, historic Shullsburg WI, and Mineral Point Wisconsin, all within 15 - 60 miles from us.

The authentic handcrafted log cabin appeals to couples; men because of its craftsmanship and ruggedness, and women love the charm of the B & B with comfort and amenities.

The kitchenette is equipped with coffee, a coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave. The dining area is furnished with an antique step-back cabinet containing dishes and silverware, a country style table with bent wood chairs and outdoor brick patio.

A very distinct focal point of the cabin is the native limestone wood-burning fireplace, designed and constructed by owner Chuck Staab (professional builder). The walnut mantel is hand hewn from one of our storm-fallen walnut trees. What could be more romantic than starting a wood fireplace on a chilly evening with the one you love? Set your own romantic mood with music from our CD collection. After soaking in a luxurious hot tub, slip on the thick terry cloth bathrobes and relax in the rocking chairs by the fireplace. The cabin is adorably decorated to make you feel comfy cozy and pampered. The queen size cedar log bed is adorned appropriately with a log cabin quilt and an abundance of pillows. The many amenities offered and attention to details is what makes Walnut Ridge such a perfect getaway.
